How the town came alive.

First I had to come up with a business plan. I decided I was going to use my savings to put into my dream. I am very thankful for all my family who have supported me on this venture. I grew up poor and having a chance to do something like this was never anything I would have dreamed of for myself. Every step of the way - my family has been my cheerleaders and sharing with the excitement to make this a  reality. Special shout out to my fiance for putting up with me along the way. I am blessed with his love and patience to make my dream a reality.

After I had the business plan set - I started looking for a  place where my town could be built. Not too far into my search  - I met the wonderful woman - Katie -  that is managing the building I am in now. She was so wonderful from the moment I met her. I can not express how very thankful I am for her. She has gone over and above to help me get my business and always has been in my corner routing for me. 

Now that I found the building - I needed to figure out how to have it built.  I first thought about doing it in plastic - but the cost was much more than I had in the budget. So then I thought - why not build it in wood. I called a few contractors and this was not something they had time or were interested in doing. But I did not stop - then I got in contract with Merle from Heartland Builders and he said he could help me. I was so very excited and worked with him to have the wonderful structure we have now. He and his workers were fast and very professional. I would highly recommend them.

After the building was finished - it needed to come to life. I was blessed to have my Niece - Veronica - and a good friend - Melena to help make that happen. Both very talented - saw my vision and made it become a reality. Veronica did the Park and selected the colors for the town. I can not say how impressed I was that in 10 minutes she selected the colors. Every color is so perfect for each store. Melena did the field with the beautiful tree and kites. I told Melena the story of my Mom and her love for kites so she painted the wonderful kites. She also painted a tree that was similar to the one we had in our backyard when we were children.

Veronica selected the colors of the town - but I had some wonderful women - Becky and Donna - who did an exceptional job painting the town. They were a pleasure to work with and I would also highly recommend them for any painting needed.

Getting Kidz Town off the ground - I needed someone to help man the desk while I was working my full time job. I was very blessed to have Tiara help me with this. From creating flyers, to coming up with ideas, working on setting up our booking system - I could not have done it without her. She will be missed at Kidz Towne working but will be playing from time to time. Luna is a VIP at Kidz Towne.

I also had help from a good friend - Jennifer - who would make time to make me flyers and coupons. She was always there with the excitement of helping me. I continue to run some cool things with her now. I am so very thankful for her support.

Final piece I am working on now is Marketing and getting the word out about Kidz Towne. I have met a really great Marketing guy - Michael with Foqs Media Solutions - who has been so helpful. He is helping pull my business together in a very professional way. I am very thankful for all the long talks and ideas that he has given me. I can tell he truly cares to help me make my business grow. I would highly recommend him.
